Program – Chopin’s and Viardot’s songs, Chopin’s mazurkas, arranged for piano and voice by Pauline Viardot

Biljana STAFFANSSON and Ljiljana JOVANOVIC are identical twin sisters, something highly unusual and unique in the world of opera. The two twin sisters studied together and graduated from the Musical Academy in Belgrade and continued their specialization in opera singing for two years at Conservatorio di Musica in Florence.
The singers have a rich classical repertoire (Bellini, Donizetti, Rossini, Mozart, Verdi and many other composers, from the Period music to contemporary music), which includes opera parts, duets and solo arias and songs. They perform with symphonic and chamber orchestras and also accompanied by piano. Their performances are unique for their exceptional interpretations, brilliant musicality and a superb upper register, which is typical for true voci Belliniane.
They have recorded for several companies. Their latest CD – 12 Mazurkas by Chopin, arranged for piano and voice by Pauline Viardot – was a big artistic and commercial success.
Biljana Staffansson lives in Riga since the summer of 2008. Ljiljana Jovanovic shares her time between Stockholm, Riga and her native Belgrade.
Inna DAVIDOVA is the pianist-concertmistress and the director of Herman Braun Foundation. The basic artistic features of Inna Davidova are delicacy and stylistic certainty. Many well-known singers, such as Inessa Galant, Inga Kalna, Elina Garanca, Irina Dolzhenko, Egils Silins, Anatoly Safiulin, can be listed her best co-workers.
The pianist has always been seeking for the uncommon and the unknown ways in the field of vocal chamber music. Every her concept has its own dramatic core and is elaborated in the inner logical development. The programs are characterized by the pianist’s imagination and deep knowledge of the subject.
Inna Davidova performs in Latvia and abroad (Russia, Denmark, UK, Italy, Japan, Canada, USA, Israel, Slovenia, Sweden, Austria, Germany, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan). |
