Rudi Berger

Before moving to New York in 1987 the Viennese jazz violinist Rudi Berger released his debut album" first step" and was voted in 1985 and 1986 "violinist of the year " by the European magazine "jazz live".

His international career he started in 1988 at the American Music Theater Festival (New York, Philadelphia and Charleston) performing the music of Astor Piazzolla under the musical direction of Astor Piazzolla.

In the same year he changed his musical boarders and met Brazilian´s guitar genius Toninho Horta with whom he has performed and recorded constantly since then.

As a band leader and guest soloist Rudi Berger has performed in whole Europe, Japan, Brazil and the U.S.A.

His personal sound, brilliant technique and unique approach as an instrumentalist and composer has made Rudi Berger to one of the finest jazz musicians Austria ever has produced.

Since 1997 Rudi Berger is living most of his time in Brazil, always visiting his musical roots Vienna and New York.


Peter Madsen

The American pianist was introduced in 1990 the first time to the European public by the "Rudi Berger Group".

Since then Peter has made five European tours with the Rudi Berger Group and they have played several times together in New York were they have met in 1989.

Peter Madsen has performed with jazz greats like Stan Getz and Stanley Turrentine and belongs to the finest jazz pianists of his generation.

Bassist, Composer, Educator, Grad of Hartt College of Music, Hartford, Ct. 1963.

Grammy Nominee 1975 for BS&T best Arrangement of "No Show"

Performed & Recorded on over 100 CDs as a bassist with Maynard Ferguson, Stan Getz, George Russell, Charles Lloyd, Keith Jarrett, Wes Montgomery, Wynton Kelly, Thelonious Monk, Sarah Vaughn, Tony Bennette, Dionne Warwicke, Michael Franks, The Fourth Way, Dave Liebman , Richie Beirach, Quest, Joe Henderson, Lee Konitz, Paul Bley, Chris Connor, The Pointer Sisters, B.S.&T.
