Living in the United States since 1994, Mrs. Gottlieb performed solo recitals for the Istituto Italiano di Cultura (1995, 1996), International Committee of the L.A. Philharmonic Association (1995), California State University Dominguez Hills (1995, 1996, 1998, 2001, 2003), cycle “For the City and World” (Latvia 1999), Gala concert celebrating the 800th anniversary of the city of Riga (Latvia 2001), 5th Music Festival in the city of Casal De L’Espluga De Francoli (Spain 1999), California State University Long Beach (CSULB) (2000 till present), annual Multi-Piano Extravaganza (CSULB Department of Music events), Irvine Chamber Music Festivals (2001, 2002), Victoria Chamber Music Festivals (2001, 2002), Classical Music Encounters of Southern California (2003, 2005, 2006).

Mrs. Valentina Gottlieb had begun her teaching carrier in 1973 as a Chair of Piano Department, Elgava Music College, Latvia.  In 1976 she has been invited to teach at the Piano Faculty of the Academy of Music, Riga, Latvia.

Among her graduates are well-known performers and educators - Ligita Muzaraja, Inessa Zhuravskaja, Inna Davidova, Elena Kamshilova-Mathys, Naila Rubtsova, Ilze Kalnina, Natalija Dirvuk, Viktor Ritovs, to name a few. 

V. Gottlieb students have successfully participated in prestigious National and International competitions.  Naila Rubtsova has been awarded a Diploma at the First J. Vitol Competition Of Pianists (1989) in Riga, Latvia, Ms. Ilze Kalnina has been awarded a Diploma at the First M. K. Ciurlionis International Piano And Organ Competition in Vilnius, Lithuania (1991), Mr. Victor Ritovs has been awarded a Diploma at the Second K. Szymanowski International Competition in Lodz, Poland (1992), a special Prize at the International TV Competition Of Young Performers in Riga, Latvia (1993) and a Diploma and Special Prize at the Second International J. Vitol Piano Competition in Riga, Latvia (1993).

Valentina Gottlieb is an active member of the Music Teachers' Association of Southern California (MTAC) and National Association of Professional Music Teachers (MTNA).  She is in high demand as an adjudicator at their festivals.  She has been a jury member for Southwest Youth Music Festival, United States Open Music Competition (Oakland, CA), the California Junior Bach Festival and many others.  She’s often invited to give master classes at CSULB, MTAC, etc.

Mrs. Gottlieb coaches students at her private studio in Irvine.  Her students have won gold and silver medals at the Southern California Bach Junior Festival, silver and bronze medals at the United States Open Music Competition (Oakland, CA), have become winners of the Southwestern Youth Music Festival in Solo and Chamber Music categories and many others.

Since 2000 Mrs. Gottlieb is with the Department of Music, CSULB where she coaches future Bachelors and Masters of Arts.
