Jazz improvisations on Brazilian themes

Before moving to New York in 1987 the Viennese jazz violinist Rudi Berger released his debut album first step and was voted in 1985 and 1986 violinist of the year by the European magazine Jazz live.
His international career he started in 1988 at the American Music Theater Festival (New York, Philadelphia and Charleston) performing the music of Astor Piazzolla under the musical direction of Astor Piazzolla. In the same year he changed his musical boarders and met Brazilian´s guitar genius Toninho Horta with whom he has performed and recorded constantly since then. As a band leader and guest soloist Rudi Berger has performed in whole Europe, Japan, Brazil and the U.S.A. His personal sound, brilliant technique and unique approach as an instrumentalist and composer have made Rudi Berger to one of the finest jazz musicians Austria ever has produced. Since 1997 Rudi Berger is living most of his time in Brazil, always visiting his musical roots Vienna and New York.
